I am a solution architect at Amref Helth Africa as a Digital Learning officer and a software development consultant. I have MSc in software engineering from Addis Ababa University. I have a strong background as a software development consultant. I have been working for more than 6 years on various projects. I developed an interoperability solution for various systems, machine-to-system integration, mobile and web app development, and open-source system customization. My experience working on various open-source systems and developing different applications helps me to be specialized in software development. I have gained those experience not only from my professional experience but also from my background as a Lecturer at Mekelle University. This background helps me to grasp the theoretical knowledge of software development and applying that theoretical knowledge to the real world makes me an experienced software developer and team lead.

Bahmni is an easy-to-use EMR & hospital system. It combines and enhances existing open source products into a single solution. For more than a year and a half, I have been customizing this open-source system for the Ministry of Health. On the development process, I also served as a team leader. The interoperability of OpenMRS with DHIS2, OpenMRS with eAPTs, OpenELIS with CBC machine integration, and DCM4CHEE with Radiology imaging equipment is another area in which I have been working.
OCL provides real-time electronic access to terminological resources and straightforward integration with independent software platforms. I also modified this open-source application and deployed it to the Ministry of Health.
